Scott Allen Architecture
Award-winning Seattle architect and fine artist Scott Allen is known for crafting innovative designs that take the “chill” out of modern architecture and ensures contemporary home designs and civic spaces in which people love to live, play and work. Whether a client is considering building a house from the ground up, remodeling, or other home design or building plans, Scott brings his clients a deep hands-on understanding of built structures and infuses that knowledge into the design process from concept to completion. The results are house designs and civic architecture noted for their elegance, enduring design and warmly personalized spaces.
Scott’s approach balances rigorous process with strong design intuition. He begins by developing an understanding of his client’s design ideas, their specific needs and the unique qualities of the work’s location to establish a strong conceptual framework. The strength of these ‘bones’ allows the design to evolve naturally as the more detailed aspects of the project are developed. This collaborative process helps Scott create architecture that truly responds to all the factors that influence it – from the big idea to the subtlest nuance.
Scott founded Scott Allen Architecture in 2009 after many years as a named partner in his Seattle-based firm Olson Sundberg Kundig Allen Architects (OSKA). During Scott’s era of leadership at OSKA, the firm was honored with the American Institute of Architects National Firm of the Year Award for 2009. With the creation of Scott Allen Architecture, Scott returns to what he loves most – working closely with his clients through every step of the building design and construction process.
Scott’s work has been featured in numerous design publications including Architectural Digest, Seattle Metropolitan, DOMUS China, Trends and more. Please visit the News tab for coverage of our work.
